Hello,
I would need to know the design factor for analysis of a steel structure of a compressor train base plate, in normal/ultimate /accidental condition from certification AISC 326. Then I could find the allowable stress for each design load.
Thanks in advance.

What I call design factor is the factor applied on Yield stress of used material. That permits us to calculate the allowable stress or design stress in order to keep structure withstanding.

Bending or flexure uses 0.66Fy, if shape has compact sections. Use 0.60Fy for lengths of Lc to Lu. Use chart is unbraced length is greater than Lu, (check shear also).
