need smaller version of IRLZ14

Looking for N-channel MOSFET similar to IRLZ14, with low on-resistance (.1-.2 ohm) but smaller, with through hole leads, such as TO92. - >6V @ .3A minimum amps drain

Please tell me where to put the post (except up my...). I've tried digikey's excellent search enigne, and Mouser'sd too, but I'm not a very good driver. I found online that Toshiba's SSM3K series might be similar but I didn't discover where to buy them.
 
Well I cannot find anything that meets your spec in a 92 either. I can only get down to about 0.33 Ohms. You are looking in a physically challenged arena. The large die area needed for low RDS[sub]on[/sub] doesn't lend itself to a 92.

Oh and when you pick a forum make sure you go to the "Browse Forums" page so you can see them all. I'd have done this in "electronic component engineering" or "electrical/electronic engineering".

Don't switch now or you'll be cross-posting.

And I agree Eng-Tips directory setup leaves much to desired as it is very confusing.

Thanks for suggesting a more appropriate forum. I was thinking, this is a digital switch. So, switch=relay, I thought: WRONG.

But, about physical size of this device, IRLZ14 is TO220 with .13 ohm on-resistance, 60V 10A. It's bigger than a TO92.

Don't savy case dimension nomenclature well, but would appreciate any suggestions for SMD N-channel MOSFET, big enough to solder leads to: >6V @ .3A, on-resistance .1-.2 ohm (with other specs similar to IRLZ14)?

 
I hope this is just a one off hack.
An SMD part that's in that size area is a SOT-223. It's rather like a mini 220.

You need to be aware that SMD are designed to dump their heat efficiently into the circuit board's copper. If you kludge this up then you need to keep the power dissipation as low as possible. To that effort these two have much lower RDS[SUB]ON[/SUB].

Dear Keith,
Thanks very much for taking the time to search and find a SMD device that will work in place of IRLZ14.

For our application, the V drain is 5V, and the continuous load is 25mA with a 0.5 second 135 mA pulse every 2 seconds. I guess the SOT223 case will dissipate that much heat without being tacked to a pcb.
