Need to get centre curve from dumb solid?

I have few 3D dumb solid Models of duct & would like to get center curve for each duct? I can create 3d Curve on the surface but can't able to get the centre curve which has been used to sweep/rib operation? (using cad system catia v5 R 16) I will appreciate if someone can reply with command list

Hi there,

1. Extract your surfaces from the solid.
2. Create a parallel curve on the surface extracted above.
3. Create center points on the edges of the extract on either side.
4. Create two lines outward from the created points.
5. Create a connect curve using the "base curve" option selecting the parallel curve as the base curve and the lines as first and second curve.

The connect will be your center curve for the solid.

Another option.

Extract the face of the duct (cross section)
then extract an isoparam from the duct, and use it as a guide for the sweep.

thats assuming you have GSD module.
