In NX7.5, in the Extrude command, the Boolean operation defaults to Inferred. I want to override/change that to NONE. I am unable to find where this can be done.
Documentation says it can be overridden but doesn't explain how.

Thanks.

Simply change the Boolean type to 'None' in the Extrude dialog while creating a feature and the next time you create an Extrude feature the Boolean type will be defaulted to 'None'. This is the way something called Dialog Memory works, it remembers the options and settings from the last time you used the dialog and so that the next time you open that dialog those are the settings which will be presented as the new default. This way the system adapts to your current work flow since many times you will be doing similar things using similar options and settings, and so this way the NX dialogs adapts on-the-fly, as it were.

John-
This then becomes "sticky"? After I close the part and session and then reopen, this should have stayed at None?

Is this dependent on closing NX correctly - File->close All Parts and File_>Exit rather that clicking the X in the upper RH corner?

Thanks!

Sorry, let me rephrase that :). I close my session, then later open a new session with a different part. Will this Option stay at None until I change it to something else and save?

Thanks.

Your preference should be saved for the next use as soon as you press OK or Apply on the extrude dialog. Note that not all the options are "sticky", but I'm pretty sure the boolean option is.

If the settings are NOT being remember from one session to the next, please go to...

Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> User Interface -> General

...and check the status of the 'Save Dialog Memory between sessions' option near the bottom of the dialog page. If it's NOT toggled ON, do so, save your Customer Defaults and restart NX. The Boolean setting should now be retained between sessions.
