Hi,
In the calculation of forces (in the MitCalc) in helical bevel gear pair [20/46 teeth pinion/gear, 20° pressure angle, 30° helical angle, Module 2, transferred power 15 kW, pinion speed 6200 RPM] I get a negative axial force for the pinion. This means that the force is pulling the pinion toward the gear. In the solidworks model it seemed that according to the tooth surface angle the pinion should be pushed and not pulled. I asked the support at MitCalc and they tell me that this can happen. I would like to check the force calculation manually. Can somebody explain how it can happen and share the formulas for force calculation in HELICAL bevel gear pair?
Thanks.

Thank you desertfox, this is what I looked for. I just believe that the drawing there is a third angle projection.
