NEMA MG-1 Part 30 - Applicable to Submersible Motors?

I am working through an issue in which there seems to be debate on whether or not NEMA MG-1 Part 30 is relavent to submersible motors. Can anyone confirm/clarify this?

I realize this may seem silly to most of you folks, but I am COMPLETELY out of my league when it comes to electrical specification and any objective insight would certainly be appreciated.

I don't have a copy at hand, but I believe submersible motors are not covered at all by MG-1.
