I find myself in need of speeding up my rubber cutting process, and would like to try cutting it with the Amada LC2415 2000w we have here.
Its .375 thick Neoprene, Has anyone here had any experience laser cutting this or anything similar? A starting point or any tips would be much appreciated.

It should cut like most non-metallic materials. Make sure to use nitrogen for assist gas, to prevent the neoprene to burn. If you have a non-contact sensing system (to maintain the right distance between nozzle and material), make sure you disable it as those won’t work for non-metallic materials.
Always check the MSDS to make sure toxic fumes will not be generated. Also watch your aspiration unit. Most filters will get plugged up when cutting exotic stuff. The smell may not be the best either. Be ready to open the doors.
As a starting point, I would use 2000W, speed around 100”/min (that’s just a guess, you’ll most likely have to play with that parameter). Nitrogen gas pressure around 3 bar. Use a big nozzle, like 2.5mm or 3mm. Focal point shouldn’t matter that much for that material. Maybe start slightly below the material surface.

Thanks a lot for the help Foostrap, you saved me much time and probably a headache too!
