Hi there
Our electricity utility supply us with star delta configured transformer with their star floating (88Kv/3.3Kv). This configuration forces us to use neutral earthing compensator to facilitate the return path for earth fault. The 525V network is derived from 3.3Kv through delta/star configured transformer with star earthed through Peterson coil. Having said that my request is the bible, which covers this type of earthing comprehensively. We have these methods of earthing but I don’t know the alternatives and their advantages. So I will be grateful if you guys could furnish us with the book (details of where i can get it) which covers earthing thoroughly.

IEEE publications Application of Neutral Grounding in Electrical Utility Systems, Part IV Distribution and Part V Transmission are indexed at:

and to a lesser degree:

Significant considerations for grounding methods for medium-voltage systems are ground-fault damage, protection sensitivity, voltage gradients [potential difference] with respect to equipment damage / personnel safety, and insulation/surge-protection overvoltage.
