I'm trying to figure out how to study for the new PE Structural exam in April 2011, which essentially combines the Structural I and II exams. However, the list of topics on NCEES for the new format has a lot of new and different study topics, not to mention that the information is grouped differently (day 1 = vertical, day 2 = lateral).
I am confused as to what books I should buy to study for this, and the best way to study. NCEES tells me they are publishing a new book for this test in November, but they didn't give me any details. Are the current books for the Structural I and II exams still good for this, and does anyone have any news or tips for additional study materials on this subject??
Everyone talks about bringing this new exam system to the forefront of licensure, but nobody seems very concerned about helping the actual engineers studying for it. I need to decide on whether I do this new test or the Civil PE exam w/ Structural depth instead, soon... please help!
