New slab and equipment pad; pour together?

A large area new 8" thick slab will support curbs, 6" housekeeping pads, and concrete piers. Would these be poured separately because of the difficulty in forming a curb, slab, or pier on top of a wet floor? I'm used to roughing the slab and doweling in curbs, pads, etc. on an existing slab but because the slab is new can the rebar for the slab, pads, etc. be placed integrally with the slab rebar.

Yes they'd be poured separately.

Typically they're poured separately. Roughing is good if you need it but the dowels can handle plenty.

Sometimes contractors like to post install the dowels instead of casting in. Makes it easier to finish, especially when there are a lot of them.

Can be done either way, but separately is the most common practice. For the curbs, assuming they are of substantial length, you may need more reinforcing than you might think to control restraint shrinkage cracking.
