New to draftsight

I downloaded draftsight and I am having troubles using it. I am familiar with Autocad so I figured this would be a breeze. I got to work on it and I can't figure out how to draw with it. Nothing shows up on the screen but when I print preview it is there. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the options for the colour settings. You may be drawing black on black, or white on white.

Are the settings your talking about under Tools-options-system options-display-element colors? If so I have set that back to default and it still will not show my lines. I am at a loss on this. I have tried different line colors also.
