Hi! I'm sure this is a very basic question, but I have never run a harmonic analysis before, even though I have used ANSYS traditional extensively for static load cases. I have a small structure created with shell181 elements (yes, I am using ANSYS 11, traditional, not Workbench), and several mass elements are linked to the structure using rigid contact (conta175 and targe170). I need to extract stress values at certain frequencies. I've completed a modal analysis and am wondering how to solve for stresses now that I know which frequencies are causing problems. Can anyone help? I've tried running a harmonic analysis with various inputs but ANSYS crashes.

Thank you!

You need to do an expansion pass. Take a look at the EXPASS command.
