New to NX 3

I'm new to NX having previously used Inventor and SolidWorks and find that it doesn't work at all logically. I'm gradually getting the hang of it but simple little things such as deleting ordinate dimensions, constraining, basic extruding to name a few can prove extremely frustrating as it takes ages to figure out how to do. Any recommendations for good basic tutorials online or a good book to invest in?

This thread topic has probabably been posted before but I can't find any on eng-tips so please point me in right direction if you do know.

Get some training! NX has so many options that you will never uncover them on your own when you start out.

The "Command Finder" is very helpful for new users.
You can enter what the command was in your previous CAD system and it should be able to find what it is in NX.

Help > Command Finder

It is also one your "Standard" tool bar

Finglas,

I know it can be daunting trying to switch from Solidworks to NX but just give it a little time, soon you will be back up to speed.

Just remember the Command finder, and take some time to explore the Design Features.

You will find many of the solid features you wish to create or remove are already setup on those menus.

Additionally, you will probably want to run through the tutorials and the help files.

Also, try disabling your continuous auto-dimension it will probably save you some headache. That being said, check your settings on your auto constrain, so you don't accidentally constrain incorrectly.
