New to Solidworks and wanted to explore photoworks to see it's capabilities on a very basic part. Created the desired geometry and opened up photoworks, but then received this error"

Photoworks: warning
"Failed to find the data directory containing Photoworks sample images"

It seems to be I'm missing a file of material or pre-exisiting finishes. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

A couple of possibilities:

Your installation of SolidWorks may be corrupt or incomplete. Try doing a repair on your installation.

Under PhotoWorks options, go into "File Locations" and see if there are any weird directories specified in there. You shouldn't need to specify any unless you are working with custom files of some sort.

PDMAdmin is correct. Try repairing your installation or re-installing.
