Hello
I'm designing a fire fighting system for a storage tank (150 m3 / gasoil), feeding a gasoil dispensing unit
NFPA 11 indicates rates and discharge times for cooling water and foam application.
[ul]
[li]cooling water : 60 minutes[/li]
[li]foam application for extinghshing tank on fire : 20 minutes[/li]
[li]foam application for extinghshing dike on fire : 30 minutes[/li]
[/ul]
However, other standards indicates time application rates which are far greater than the NFPAs', the oringin of this difference seems to come from considering the time needed for a second intervention from another source(such as fire fighting truck),
I need to know wether the NFPA, indicates when to extend application rates ? if it does, where can i find it, because i'm going to have to design a water reserve tank along with a emulsifier tank.
Thank you in advance
