Replacing Health Care Agency generator batteries from conventional lead acid to gel lead acid or nicad. Will eliminate the need for frequent electrolyte level testing. My question is in reference to testing/documenting "state of charge" per NFPA 110 requirements. On a standby generator system with any number of starting batteries wired in parallel will an overall end point voltage measurement suffice for "state of charge " or does each individual battery need to be broken from the circuit and each voltage tested and recorded?
thoughts?

A.8.3.7 A battery load test should be performed quarterly.

looks like you would have to check each battery, because if it requires the liquid level to be checked thatn you would be looking at each battery
