For Calculating the quantity of clean agent required, The hazard volume should be determined.
as per my understanding the volume hazard is different from the volume of room which is meant to be protected.

As per NFPA 2001 Clause no.5.5.1
net volume of Hazard, calculated as the gross volume minus the volume of fixed structures impervious to clean agents vapor.
does this clause mean that only fixed structural members should be deducted from the gross room volume ignoring any existing equipment volume?

but , i could find also in NFPA 2001 A Clause which is in conflict with the previous clause

AS per NFPA 2001 C.2.4.2 Measurement of enclosure
Measure the clean agent protected enclosure volume.record all dimensions .Deduct the volume of large solid objects to obtain the net volume.

so please clarify this

Both clauses refer to the same thing basically, there is no conflict. Stick to the official wording, that is 5.5.1. Fixed obstructions which are impervious to the extinguishing gas are allowed to be deducted from the overall volume. You are asking if it has to be fixed. If it's not fixed it can eventually go out. What does this tell you?
