Hi Every one,

We have an issue with the minimum shell to shell spacing of aboveground storage tank according to NFPA-30, 2012 ed, table 22.4.2.1.

the tank spacing should have been 9 meters but now it's 8 meters. The foundations have been build and soon the contruction of the tanks will commence.

I can't find a solution/workaround this issue in NFPA. Anny suggestions???

wkg,

Ashvin

I guess that I would explore a three-sided fireproof wall around one of the tanks.

This would be similar to the three-sided walls constructed around station transformers that protects powerplant turbine halls.(Station transformers are devices that are filled with a flammable fluid that must be placed close together)

(See NFPA 850)

About a fire suppression system? I don't have a current NFPA 30 to check on exceptions so recheck yours if you have not done it.
