NFPA 418 - STANDARD FOR HELIPORTS

Hi everyone,
I have to do a schematic design for a helipad foam-water system with oscillating monitors. The helipad is located on the roof of a 6 story building. The building has a combined sprinkler/standpipe system. The question is: can I connect the helipad deluge system to the combined riser and size the pump for the greatest demand between standpipe and deluge system? I couldn’t find anything in NFPA 418. Any ideas?
 
Try looking in NFPA 13 (sprinklers) and 14 (standpipes) to see if they prohibit this. I suspect if hydraulic calculations support the use, you should be able to get it approved. Another option is to discuss with the AHJ.
