Hello. I've got a question here. In accordance with the NFPA requirements, is it necessary for a gas fire extinguishing system to be furnished with a manual/automatic switching device? And does the sole manual release (Electrical Manual Release and Mechanical Manual Release)method fulfill the NFPA requirements?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Hi. A manual only activation can be used, but only if approved by the authority, otherwise the system must have automatic and manual activation.

Thank you very much for your reply. My owner has installed a set of FM200 in the control room. Since there are always people in the control room, they are worried that the automatic spraying might harm the personnel. Therefore, they want to install a manual/automatic switching device. As far as I know, it seems that no project has ever done this before.
