ni625 weld qualification to asme IX

Hi please advice..


if I want to qualify the butt weld for a ni625 pipe to ni625 flange, can I use the pipe material cut into two halts and make the butt weld.

is that acceptable qualification for this production weld.

Please note that the flange and pipe are Ni625 but using two different specification is using to buy the items .

Please review ASME Section IX. Qualification of base material is by P-No and Group-No, not by material specification.
