Has any one heard of nickel 200 coating on aluminum castings? We have a customer who wants to know if Ni-Al-Bronze can be coated with Ni-200.

Please comment

Thank you

Ni-Al bronze is a copper alloy, not aluminum. It can be plated.

Thanks for correcting me.. I should have known better.

Do you know where I can find more information about this coating practice?

I apprecaite your help.

Nickel coatings can vary greatly in stress. We've had rather absurdly thin nickel coatings that cracked magnet substrates.

I still am unsuccessful trying to find information on this coating. Can any one post an links that tell a little more about it?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Are you sure they aren't referring to weld overlay of areas on the aluminum bronze casting? Ni 200 weld overlays can be applied to aluminum bronze alloys.
