A question has been raised if the below picture is considered a nipoflange or flange olet? It appears to be on long weld neck flange that has been beveled and installed on on 20" main header.
1. Is this a nipflange or flange olet
2. Besides the incompleted weld would this be exceptable per B31.3
A. If not acceptable why? The thickness of the pipe is the entire thickness of a weldolet and would appear to be stronger.
3. It could possibly be a bad manufacture that is calling it a nipoflange per the MTR, in which it is a long weld neck flange.
ANy feedback we would great.
