Dear all,
At my job location we use compressed air at 3 barg to unload a truck of 53 wt% of nitric acid in our buffer tank. During depressurising the truck through our process installation we experience an irritating mist at the combined vent and overflow line on our buffer tank during 3 - 4 minutes. I was asked to think of an solution to prevent this irritating mist. I believe this mist is formed during depressurizing the truck through our 4.5 mtr long vertical up filling line (displacement of liquid head and purging the line and flexible hose). I am trying to calculate particle size and the expected gasflow range during depressurizing to be able to specify an mist eliminator to a vendor (demister). Installation of this demister will be inline (Tank is not big enough to install demister pad). Does anybody think that my proposed solution works or has other possible solutions? I appreciate your help!
