Hi, my intent is to provide something like a rubber "kickplate" to the side of my car in order to prevent damage from my wheelchair bumping into it. I'm not sure what the best material for the application is, but currently I'm thinking 1/8" sheet of nitrile rubber to apply to the sanded sheet metal of the rocker panel, topped with a vinyl wrap for appearance. I don't have access to a shop and I'm not sure what sort of curing I can apply outside of using a simple heat gun.

Thanks!

Another idea - apply bedliner material to the rocket panel(s). It might be easier to "touch up" after being scuffed over the years.
