We have a 6,000 gallon RO / DI Water storage tank (approx 1.0 megohm purity) and would like to control bacteria growth in this tank. Will a Nitrogen Blanket in this tank help slow the bacteria growth? I know it will help maintain purity as we polish it to 18+ megohm after the storage tank. The distribution plumbing has been designed to maintain a minimum flow velocity of 3.0 feet per second. We will be using 80.0 gpm from this tank and returning 20.0 gpm back to the tank.
Thanks Rich

This is very commonly done in the electronics and power industries and if you search this website, you will find plenty of information.

Demin water tank - nitrogen blanketing

Some users in the power industry also use the blanketing to prevent the DI water from absorbing CO2 and Oxygen from the air.
