Nitrogen pipe/valve types

Hello!

I am still new to the field, and I'm not sure about this, but is there a standard/usual valve type to use on nitrogen lines? Or can I use the same valves that I'm using on liquid lines elsewhere? For example, if I have a 1" reduce-port ball valve on a liquid drain line, would it be appropriate to use the same valve on my 1" nitrogen lines? On that note, what pipe material is generally used for nitrogen?

See the thread below regarding your particular valve examples. Short answer is you're probably fine so long as the material of construction is appropriate.

Pipe material will depend on operating conditions; if you're going to have cold temps then stainless is likely needed. See thread below for a small discussion of this question.

gaseous nitrogen or liquid nitrogen?
high purity gas lines (such as from bulk supply) are usually either Cu (heavy such as K) or stainless steel (sch 5 pipe is common). Valves are selected for leak resistance, after all every leak is a source for air to get into the system. Liquid service valves are usually not good enough.
