Hi folks,
Just a quick question to ask if there are any specific concerns that need to be cosnidered when welding Carbon Steel components together for nozzles, dished ends etc in Nitrogen service. Design temp is minus 20 deg C and the operating pressure is less than 4 barg.
We are using P1 or P11 materials and have qualified procedures with impacts etc, WPS docs and welders for the codes (ASME). Although we are highly experienced ASME fabricators we are not used to working with equipment in Nitrogen service and just need to make usre there is nothing extra in terms of weld preparation, joint design or NDT that we are not aware of.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
