we are considering purchasing a large gas turbine, frame 501 FD2, but it has a fuel spec which no one seems to meet. In particular, it requires a low carbon reidual of < 0.15% per ASTM test D4530.
Anyone know of a modification to the siemens westinghouse fule oil lines which will allow operation with < 0.25% carbon residue ? Maybe larger dia fuel lines, insulated fuel lines, special purge , ??
