I am trying to remember the attribute that could be placed in a part file that would tell the system to not apply hatching when those parts were bisected by a section plane. We used it in standard hardware parts so the sectioning would comply with ASME Y14.3, which states that pins, screws, washers, nuts, etc are not cross hatched.

The attribute name and the options would be nice to remember. A description from the help files would be better.

Just open one of the fastener files from the Standard Hardware Library and check the attributes assigned.

From the docs:

The section-component attribute

By default, a component part always appears sectioned in an assembly section view. You can however make a selected component automatically appear non-sectioned in the view by assigning the attribute ‘section-component’ to it. This technique can be used as an alternative to applying the Non-sectioned Component/Solid or Sectioned Component/Solid option whenever you create the assembly section view.
