We are getting a " no metal sheet " error on our Prima Platino laser. The error occurs almost always on ( .120 thick )Stainless Steel part that we run several times a week. The entire nest consists on a single part( 107 parts per sheet ) . The error does not occur on the same area on the part or the same place on the nest. The error occurs with no time pattern. It has stopped three times on the first sheet, cut nonstop for twelve hours, stop three hours later , ect. When the machine is restarted the head is sitting higher than the normal cut height. When the machine is restarted the head moves down and cuts with no problem. The parts are not common line cut and are tabbed to prevent tipping.
We have replaced the sensor in the head , modified the program , modified the tech table and tried a different tip.
99% of the time we will see this error only with SS.
Any siggestions ?

We have had the same error on our Amada 4020 but I am not sure it is behaving the same way. The error always comes up at the beginning of the program and results in the head slowly going down in the home position until it gives a over travel Z error.
The only fix we have found was to load a new set of conditions with a new name and run those instead.
Not sure if that is any help but that is how we fixed it.
