Please if any one knows of a manufacturer that does this sort of valves, no telemetric, pressure sustaining valve for sewerage force main (no blockage risk), 150mm pipe.

This pipe has lots of high point and pumping downhill, any one has a better solution to prevent the pipe from emptying on pump shut off (bad odour from air valve will be a problem, odour control is possible but not preferable, check valve air valve could cause very high negative pressure the pipe could be severely damaged or even fracture, extending a 30m high pipe up the ground at discharge would cause me to be living on the street!)

I’ve started Internet search but nothing till now.

Thanks a lot.

Have you considered the use of soft start/stops? It will require some reconfiguration of the controls, motors and pumps. In conjunction with check valves, it may be one option to further explore.

I had a similar problem some years ago. I used a pressure transducer and a knife gate valve on the end of the pipe. Plus soft start and stop on the pump. The transducer detected the reduction in pump head as the pump shut down and closed the valve before the pipeline was able to drain.

This give us a surge problem and we had to spend some time getting the soft stop and valve closure characteristics to balance so as not produce excessive transient pressures.

We also had the problem that at low flows the sewage in the pipeline would turn septic. We included dosing with nutriox at the pump station to prevent this.

Not a good solution but the best we could come up with at the time. (I am pleased that I had moved on before the system was commissioned).
