Hello Abaqus users,
I modeled Uniaxial compression test of a Rock sample using abaqus explicit. Although the test is Quasi-static, however due to the high load applied, the material is subjected to high non-linearity, so Abaqus implicit always diverges.
The element size of rigid platens is 3 times that of the deformable rock sample.
I checked the vertical stress, i see noise in the distribution of the stress on the top surface where the rigid platen is used to apply the load. one element has high stress and beside that element another one with low stress.
I think the element size is not a problem, because i changed the element size for the deformable rock sample, make it finer. the problem does not solved.
Your idea is highly appreciated.
Thanks
