Hi All,
I have a shell and tube heat exchanger where the waterbox is welded directly to the vessel tubesheet.
The waterbox is exempt from the ASME VIII rules because it contains water at 150 psi and below 210F.
I am wondering if the connection between the waterbox and tubesheet would need to conform to UG-93 rules for inspection, which is for "pressure parts welded to flat plates over 1/2" thick, or is this connection exempt because the waterbox is not code.
Thanks in advance
