If it is decided that the oil piping that goes to the ignitor (oil gun) that lights the coal in a power plant falls under b31.1 power piping as non boiler external piping (NBEP)... then does the code govern everything involved in the making of the ignitor too as "power piping NBEP"

I figured it would... I'm waiting to get a copy of b31.1 and an hoping to get any opinions in the meantime... maybe someone with prior experiences... Thanks!

You weren't satisfied with the answers given in the other thread on the subject?

Well I got out of it a few things... one was check nfpa... so I checked nfpa 85 and it claims for single burner units that b31.1 is for all oil piping... but for multiple burner units there is nothing listed...at least that I could find... strange.... working from nfpa 85 2007 edition

Anyhow, so if b31.1 does end up applying to the piping, I assume it applys to the oil gun, but was just hoping for confirmation or maybe not.... I will go back and look in that other thread again, but I didnt remember anything that resolved my question completely, and I wanted to rephrase it anyways...

It sounds to me like you are wanting someone to tell you that it is, since you were given valid reasons in the other thread why it is not B31.1 piping.

I challenge you to go to any legitimate piping fitting catalog and find the individual oil gun compoinents, nozzles, tips, pistol grips, etc.

If you can find those things in a pipe and fitting catalog long with the elbows, threadolets and flanges, etc, then I guess you have your answer.
