Non chemical water treatment systems

What are peoples experiences with non chemical water treatment systems for cooling towers in lieu of traditional chemical based systems?

Listening to the sales pitches these system are perfect, listening to feedback from competitors and maintenance people, everything is not always as rosy as is claimed consider scale, corrosion, and biological all need to be controlled.

There have been numerous threads on this topic in the past, I would do a search and look at some of them.

It has been my experience that none of these products even come close to their lofty claims. I would steer clear.

Seems like very few positive replies! Apart from the suppliers I have been unable to find anyone who is willing to recommend a system.

Are you (marcoh) really new to this site? I ask because I've seen threads with almost identical text appear about every 4-6 months.

The replies from folks on this forum are consistent, and include:
- no recommendations
- just snake oil
- sell somewhere else

Assuming you are new and asking an honest question: I've yet to see any of these systems even attempt to provide a legitimate technical explaination of how they are claimed to work; and I've yet to see any legitimate, comparable, and reproducible evidence that they work.

Yes I am new to these forums, first looked here a couple of weeks ago!

Nearly had an electrostatic water treatment supplier yelling at me down the phone in a rage the other day when I dared question him about claims that his system may be be all he claimed. lol
