Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) using eddy current

I am no NDT engineer. I only know enough to cause problems. My question is related to using an eddy current inspection technique to inspect for cracks within a hole. The technique involves using a rotating eddy current probe and the part to be inspected is made from aluminum 2014-T651. We have reason to believe that the inspection standard was mistakenly made from either 6061-T651 or 7075-T651. Will the different types of aluminum (between the part and standard) cause us problems?

It may impact resolution, but you should still have good detection.
You can look up the electrical resistivity of the alloys to see how similar they are.

I would not use a standard made from a different material. Not only the resistivity can be different, but the grain size, and even the condition can affect eddy current flow.
