NON-LINEAR, LIMIT LOAD ANALYSIS: DESIGN OF EXPERIMENT (TABLE OF DESIGN POINTS) CONTINUOUS RUN

All,

I am running a non-linear limit load analysis [LLA] in which I am taking my model (geometry and material model) to plastic collapse. I am performing a design of experiment (DoE) in which I am varying a set of design parameters to assess the maximum burst pressure my component fails at.

Convention elastic LLA using the table of design points will run until a solution is reached, then, subsequently move on to the next design point upon clicking "Update All Design Points". ANSYS will also conveniently store each design points to allow the user to switch design scenarios as you all are currently aware of.

I am at a bit of a conundrum.

I am trying to NOT make the model solve in order to determine the time (s) at which the solver failed to converge at (i.e. the step load), and naturally interpolate to calculate the burst pressure. As far as I am aware this method is the one practiced in determining the limit load in accordance with ASME VIII Div 2 work - i.e. my line of work.

My question/query is: Is there a setting to allow me to click on "UPDATE ALL DESIGN POINTS" that will tell ANSYS to move on to the next design point despite the solver not being able to reach a finite solution?

Otherwise it's looking like an arduous and repetitive task of opening + closing Mechanical, manually re-meshing and manually solving each and every time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

David.
