hi, everyone

(1) Could the modal superposition (MSUP) method be use to run a nonlinear time history analysis of a single degree of freedom system in ansys?

(2) How can I speed up the nonlinear time history analysis of a single degree of freedom system by FUll method in ansys?

(1) typically, no.

(2) in implicit the solve time depends on several factors, generally (but not exclusively):
(a) the number of DOF in the model,
(b) the extent of non-linearities (e.g. The level and rate of change of plastic strain; how discontinuous the system is (for contact), the level of geometric non-linearity.

Different material models can also extend analysis times.

If you can't reduce the number of DOF then careful choice of the time step and the convergence criteria controls chosen can also help to speed up the analysis.
