Dear colleagues,

I need to create a wind analysis on a column with 16 meters height.
It will hold on the top a publicity plate with 6m width per 4.5m height.
At this moment I´m able to insert on my model static loads from the dynamic analysis provided on the regulation book. This loads already contemplate back-stroke effect and resonance factors.
But I want to study this case with more accurancy.
I would like to do this analysis on sap2000 but I don´t know what and how to use the "Functions" menu for this case. Linear or Non-Linear? How to detect resonance effects after introducing correct data? Oscilation modes? etc.

Can someone give me a help or send me tutorials, examples for a simple case of a pendulum with a mass on the top a column in SAP2000 so I can see and try to understand the data input?

Resuming, something that help me to introduce myself into non-liner analysis.

Thank you for your help.

PS - Unfortunatly I don´t have any senior engineer working with me with knowledge in FEA.
I also posted this thread in 2 other foruns
