Could somebody please let me know the North american Steel spec for the following china specs.....
NF300
NF300+CR
FCDFH,FC250+WELD EDGE,SS400+ WELD EDGE
FC250+CR
FCDFH+CR
SKD11N+CR
SKD11N+NW
SKD11N+TD

THESE SPECS ARE FOR NISSAN DIE SPEC'S THAT THEY REQUIRE US TO USE FOR BUILDING THEIR TOOLS. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO KNOW THE COMPARABLE SPEC. EXAMPLE 4140!

First things first...

1) What general type of steels are these? Tool steels? 1008/1010.. Drawing grades, HSLA, ....

2) Are these market specs or are they internal Nissan specs...

3) Are they china or japan? Seems that prints originating at Nissan would be Japan.

4) I've never seen automotive specify tooling materials, are you sure? If so then these likely all have american grades....

Heres some quick help:
I couldnt find NFxxx in my book at all.
FCDnnn is Ductile Cast Iron to JISG5502 -- IE: Japan spec.
FCnnn is Grey Cast Iron to JISG5501 -- IE: Japan spec.
SKD11 is D2 Tool Steel to JISG4404 -- IE: Japan spec.

Thats the best I can get you w/o more detail.

I love materials science!

Thanks for your response! They are general tool steels. We are currently quoting tooling for Fabco which in turn is for Nissan. You are right to say that they are Japan spec's. I wasn't sure at the time. When we quote Nissan, sends there material needs in which we are in turn suppose to use for their tools. Thanks for your response and it is truely appreciated. If you stuble accross any of the other spec's just let me know?

You might try getting info from MATWEB or Global engineering Documents.
