After doing some googling, it appears the steel design code used in Norway for on-shore is EN 1993. Is this correct? I'm in the U.S. and I'll be designing a few equipment skids going in a little town in Norway. Is there some governing authority that insist a certain code be used or, if we can convince the client, could we use AISC 360? It seems like a lot of work to have to become familiar with a new code just to design a few skids.

Well EN 1993 is the European Code for steel structures.
I am not sure if Norway uses this code already, but this code is used more and more in Europe

best regards

Yes they use EN that is NS-EN 1993. Be sure to look up their national annex as they are in cold climate with strong winds
