Hi All,
I'm working on Ansys 19.1 and I've inserted a beam through 'connection' menu with all the relevant material and geometric properties.
And I've applied pretension on the beam to simulate pretension of bolts.
The behavior of the faces used for connection is maintained as 'Rigid'.
My question is:
Why am I not able to insert Beam tool. I want to read the direct stress, Bending stress and Combined stress (similar to options available in Beam tool) in the beams.
Beam probe is available but it only talks about shear force and bending moment.
Or, is there a way to calculate the Direct, Bending and combined stresses using the beam probe itself?
PS: I came to know that beam tool only works for line components but why doesn't it work on beams inserted in the workbench itself?
Thank you every in advance.
