Josh:

Got a problem with my RISA 3D in that the main program is not recognizing the presence of the Sentinel in the computer (program Sentinel, not hardware) even though it is present and on the auto open mode. Used to work fine until mid November.

I can still do problems on the demo version, but only up to 40 members and 40 joints. Not enough... The frame model I need to work on is in the main file, but I cannot access it. Somehow, the system got corrupted, and I do not know if it is the sentinel, or the main program.

Any suggestions? It is version 7.1.

Some possibilities come to mind:

1) Update the sentinel driver. At some point, we updated what driver was required to read the key. I think that was sometime after version 7.1, but it is at least a possibility. The driver can be downloaded from the following URL:

2) Multiple keys. Every now and then the program can get confused when there are multiple keys connected to the computer. Usually this is only a problem when the program is trying to update the key after installing an upgrade...or for a network version.

3) Remote Desktop: If you are trying to use a program like remote desktop to access the program through a remote computer, then it will not work... You can read the key information using the RISA Key Manager, but the actual RISA programs will not run through this type of remote service.

Thanks for the link Josh, but I can't get Acrobat to unzip the file - says it may be corrupted if it was forwarded over the internet?

Do the sentnels have to be loaded off a disk for security purposes?

It's not a PDF file, but a zipped file. You can get to the same thing from our website:

Then click on the following:

- Support
-- Product Licensing (which is way down at the bottom right of the page)
--- Updated Sentinel System Driver Installer 7.5.1

Thanks Josh. I'll give it a go.
