OK, so basic question here: I'm trying to figure out what the shear force in the axial direction of a nozzle under internal pressure is but am having a brain fart. The nozzle is going to be wrapped and I want to figure out what the shear stress is going to be between the nozzle and the wrapping.

OK eml,
There is not shear force on the nozzle axial direction. The shear force tending to shear off the nozzle from the vessel is perpendicular on the nozzle's centreline. You have to be a bit more specific to describe the wrapping, able to put any significant shear stress on the subject nozzle. Any way, the only shear stress on the nozzle neck I could think of, is the weight or similar other forces acting on the dreaded wrapping multiplied by the friction factor between the wrapping and the nozzle neck material.
Please come back with some more details.
cheers,
