Hello everyone;
plz help me to solve this probleme, for a nozzle 52in NPS (SA-350 LF2 CL2) located on the shell of PV with internal design pressure is about 59 barg and ID 4500mm (with CA= 3mm).
the thickness of the shell is t=103 mm
the allowable stress (fct of design temperature and material) is 20000psi
for these conditions i found trn=35 mm.
the nozzle is self rienforced.

so what i will do to choose the right sketch to design these nozzle from the FIG UG40??

HOUARI YAHIAOUI, I'm not going to check your numbers, but you should be looking at UW-16 for the design of this detail rather than Fig UG-40.

You could perhaps use Fig UW-16(b), weld thru the nozzle neck, but sketches (e) or (g), weld thru the vessel wall would be more often used.

Matter of shop preference and/or contract requirements more than anything.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Big stuff !!!

Can you share with us sketches of your final design ....

Is this a repair on an existing pressure vessel ???
