Haven't been using NX for a while. NX 12. So I created an assembly of individual parts, each part file is surfaces that I have identified by a certain set of colors by part function.
I rolled up all 8-10 part files in an assembly part file, and in this assembly part file, I over-ride the colors and assign a different set of colors to my surfaces in the assembly part file.
Now when I go to make some views, using the assembly part file as reference, all the views, when shaded, show the individual part files surface colors, and not the top level assembly color.
Is there a way to chose which way I want the view in drafting to be displayed? I can do this in Solidworks.
I'm sure there is some setting I am missing. Any help is appreciated.

RMC (right mouse click) on the drawing view and go into SETTINGS
Go into VISIBLE LINES
Click on the color palette (shown in first picture)
Click on deselect all colors (shown in second picture} -> OK
You may need to update your view on the drawing (but I am not certain of that)

If this does not help let us know.
