NX 1892.4 from NX11-Working in an Assembly and keep getting switched to child part 2

Hello, I am trying to work in an assembly and draw points and planes etc and the work part keeps getting changed to the child part of the feature I pick. Why is this happening now?

I had been working in NX 11 and now am trying to work in NX 1892.4

Try turning off the "allow automatic work part change" option.

I think that this is a newer option (added sometime after NX 11). They tend to turn on the new options by default. If something isn't working like what you were used to, it is generally a matter of finding the new option and turning it off.
