I've just upgraded to NX 5.0.3.2 and I am having a problem in which NX "stops/hangs" in the middle of doing my work. This is anything from doing a right click, selecting icons or toolbars and selecting a dimension to edit. If I do a "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and escape from the task manager everything resumes as expexted. In Sketcher, swithing applications makes NX continue. Side note, if I continue to select icons or menus, after the "escape" all of the selected actions cycle through.

Any thoughts or others experiencing this?

Thanks!

Are you using a Microsoft intellipoint mouse driver ? If so get rid of it and go back to a standard windows mouse driver

I had a problem with a cordless mouse doing that on a specific machine, I changed to a different style of cordless mouse and it works fine now. i don't think it is related to NX5, but i guess anything is possible if the machine is being taxed more then usual.

Lunnar, hey- MANY MANY thanks for the tip- I owe you a beer or four!!!! I had similar problems of CONSTANT NX5 stall-outs while running the Intellipoint mouse driver. I removed the driver and everything seems to be running just fine. Two whole days w/o a stall. :)

Here's my question- Is this site linked to GTAC so that when nothing else works, we could ask real users for help? If not, could it be? I had aggressively battled this problem for the past month, but the people over at GTAC had NO clue that mouse drivers could be the issue. They tried with whatever the resources which they have available, but obviously it didn't get the job done.

Thanks again for the tip!!

This site is NOT an official Siemens PLM Software sponsored site, at least not in the sense that it's 'required reading', although several employees do follow this message board.

However, that being said there is AN OFFICIAL BBS (Bulletin Board System) owned and operated by Siemens PLM Software. Just contact GTAC and they will set you up with an account and you can post your questions there were a much larger number of of Siemens employees monitor it including many people GTAC.
