well i have myself a new laptop with windows 7 and first thing i do is to allow windows to update itself from the original install. this has loaded internet explorer 9. now i have installed NX 7.5 and figure i had better update myself with some of the latest fixes and new features. ok the documents main page comes up but i want to search for something specific. click on the search button and type in as example "cylinder" and hit return and "bang!" the words that i have typed in have disappeared and nothing else happens!
so my question now is obvious, has this happened to any one else and were you able to fix it? perhaps it is something in the internet explorer setting. can some one help. i keep getting pop ups every day telling me that there are important updates and it is always to update to IE9.

Happened to me too. Windows XP/IE 8 on one machine and NX 7.5 help search works perfect. Windows 7/IE 9 on another machine and NX 7.5 help search does exactly what you mention. You type a word, hit enter, the word disappears, and nothing else happens. I just use the help on my XP machine if I need to look something up.

one of two ways to fix.

1. get rid of IE9. Windows Control Panel, then go to Programs & Features and then look at the installed updates & remove IE9. IE8 is still there so it won't be problem to remove.

2. inside IE9, Tools -> Compatibility View. Basically you can activate the compatibility view for all sites in the dialog that appears.

Still seen issues with compatibility view so removing IE9 is the better option until the issue is fixed.

yes i have removed IE9 and now this does not happen. just was wondering if there was an easy fix or not.

OK, if you wish to use IE9 with the NX help documents, including using search, here is what we recommend:

First uninstall IE9.

Then update JAVA (has to be Microsoft JVM or Sun JVM version 1.6 or higher).

Finally reinstall IE9.

Internally we have found that it was JAVA not being at the proper update level which was causing the search problems when using IE9.

i have been using the java as i listed and IE8, now i have let windows update upgrade to IE9 and the problem as i had stated at the beginning of the thread is there. if i uninstall IE9 and go back to IE8 there will be no problem.
still i'm not sure what else there is to do.

I had this problem too. I have changed to Firefox 5 it seems to work OK although I did have to turn off the popup blocker

Not sure if this is the same issue or not.

We had a similiar problem with our ftp site. The 32 bit worked fine, but the 64 bit would not bring up everything, when we looked for files. You could check and see if you are running a 64 bit ie.

Like I said, might not be your issue, but I am just throwing in my 2 centsIn our install of Internet Explorer, there are 2 icons (32 bit and 64 bit).
